The Fijian government remains resolute in its quest to improve quality and efficiency throughout the education sector.
This was highlighted yesterday by the Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism Hon. Faiyaz Koya while handing over school stationeries, Fijian Made merchandise and Tablets to children of Dilkusha Home to assist them in their studies ahead of the school year.
Minster Koya said the Bainimarama government is continuing to radically change the education system in shaping young minds and giving our children the skills that will shape a modern nation.
Therefore, Fiji’s future is bright because we have invested in our children’s education. And that is the reason why we are here to donate school stationeries and merchandise to the girls of Dilkusha Home,” Minister Koya said.
“The Fijian government has played its part by making education free, a first in Fiji’s history. It has also provided free bus fare, free text books to all schools and increased grants to maintain the school operations.”
Minister Koya also reminded the parents that were present at the event that Government did not condone violence against women and children.
Deaconess Leba Laveti of Dilkusha Home thanked Government for their contribution towards the development of the children education at the home.
“We would like to thank the head of government and members of his cabinet for their continuous support in ensuring that children at the home are being assisted,” Ms Laveti said.
