Ministry of Industry and Trade has reassured the business community in USA that it stands ready to work side-by-side with them to take trade and investment between the two countries to greater heights.
The Permanent Secretary for Industry and Trade, Shaheen Ali, gave this reassurance yesterday to the 2014 USA Inbound Mission to Fiji during a seminar at the Holiday Inn Suva.
The mission, made up of almost a group of potential or existing investors from USA most of who are former Fijians, are here to explore business/investment opportunities.
Mr Ali, giving some figures and a brief overview of the Fijian economy, encouraged the delegates to take advantage of this opportunity to turn their business plans into reality. "I'm very pleased to note that in 2013 there was an increase in American investment in Fiji after a short period of decline," he said.
"It's clear that American investors are returning to Fiji to take advantage of the investment boom currently underway."
Mr Ali revealed that the past year, Fiji's trade with the USA grew and USA in fact was one of our biggest export markets.
"Fiji and USA have enjoyed a strong bilateral trade relation and I assure you the future is indeed bright," he said.
A number of speakers provided the delegates with an overview of the investment incentives and reforms that make investing in Fiji easier, as well as positioning it to be among the most attractive investment destinations in the world.
