About 91 exhibitors from Fiji and around the Pacific region will showcase their products mainly from the Tourism, Agriculture and Aquaculture industries at the Trade Pasifika from today until Friday at the Vodafone Arena.
While opening the Trade Pasifika last night, Minister for Trade and Industries Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said one of the problems faced by traders is getting the right price for their products.
Sayed-Khaiyum said there are some things that can work well in some countries compared to others.
Permanent secretary for Trade Shaheen Ali said Fiji’s trade in the Pacific has improved since 2000.
However, Ali added trade is still low in the region and that is why it is important that traders come together under one roof like the Trade Pasifika.
Chairperson of the Trade Pasifika Steering Committee Kaliopate Tavola said this year’s event is going to be big in many ways.
The theme for the Trade Pasifika is “Exporting for growth, it’s every ones business” and will be held held at the Vodafone arena from today.
The admission fee is $1.
