The ANZ Bank gave $10,000 for the Fiji trade mission to Papua New Guinea next week.
In handing over the cheque, ANZ’s Head of Corporate Banking Rakesh Ram says in its one hundred years of existence in PNG, the bank has been transacting most of the trade between the two countries.
Permanent Secretary for Trade Shaheen Ali says, the money will pay for the trade and investment dinner which Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimara will host in PNG.
“The important theme of this visit which is build a strong Melanesia through the leadership of PNG and Fiji the two leading countries to not only enhance our bilateral relations but to ensure that our Melanesia block is strong so to build a stronger a Melanesia and that will provide the corner stone foir building a strong Pacific".
41 local companies will be in PNG to explore business opportunities and showcase their products.
